Born in Maine, I raised my family here. I'm still in Maine, living and working in the city of Saco.

Graphite pencil is my medium of choice because of the fine details and subtle shading it provides. This is my favorite medium for drawing horses, mules, cattle, dogs, cats---and there are so many other types of animals. Each has a lot to offer! Trees, too, especially the older, more intricate ones, are fun to do in pencil. I sometimes work with colored pencils as well. They work fine with just about any subject.

Homes and barns , buggies and wagons, are good subjects for pencil, pastel and charcoal.

Oils and soft pastels are so great for painting seascapes, which I plan to begin with again, having moved closer to the coast in recent years. Skies are also a wonderful subject for these mediums.

Watercolor and pen-and-ink are a good combination when painting little fishing flies of all sorts. These two mediums show up in some of my rural subjects also.

Occasionally I create works from Cut Paper, otherwise known as silhouette art. These are framed between two pieces of glass, with spacers between the last sheet of glass and the background, producing a shadowbox effect.
